i have th eairbag light on all the time. took it to chrysler said it was passenger seatbelt tensioner. replaced seatbelt myself light still on. trying to keep costs down as chrysler in uk charger $160 an hour!!!! does the system need reseting? any help will save me lots of money. thank you.

hi, i would not take chances you don't need that going off as your are driving !!

To check and see if the light is for real (since you changed the seatbelt), take off the negative battery cable for a few minutes. This will wipe out any codes plus the seat belt light that are being set by the computer. After you put the cable back on and take the PT for a ride, then see if the light comes back on.
Questions: how did you know which seat belt to replace (Passenger/driver) ? Was the tensioner also replaced with the new belt?

you will need to have someone with a airbag scan tool erase the set code in the airbag computer. what caused the seat belt pre-tensioner to go bad? was it popped or did it simply trip a fault becasue of incorrect resistance? the airbag computer isnt like the engines ECM, the codes cant simply be erased by removing the battery terminal.

thank you all for giving me sound advice. i will see if i can get an air bag scanner. will post some pics soon and hopefully you will lik emy pt. since i posted air bag prob it is now going off for a few secounds then coming back on with audio alarm sound as well. thank you all for your advice.
