Default Poor PT :(

Well tonight I was driving down a dirt road, and out of no where a 4ft pothole decided to show up and spice up the night!! I hit the pothole going about 15mph and I believe my tie-rods split and my ball joints are goners.

Ol' Betsy (PT Crusier :'() is at the dealership waiting for them to open up tomorrow to be fixed. Good news is - The police officer that reported to the scene told me the Road Commission would reimburse me on my damages and towing since the pothole IS the road commissions responsibility.

Soo moral of the story, PT Cruiser is in the shop as of tomorrow awaiting to be fixed with more than likely a good hefty bill. Wish me luck!

We have some of the worst highways in Manitoba (and highest gas taxes!) and I remember reading about an interesting story. There was a person driving on a highway that had suffered severe frost damage and there was a lot of heaving. The person hit a piece of road that was pushed up so high that it demolished the front of their car. The insurance here is run by the Provincial government. They told that person that "a collision with the roadway is not covered." That's one of the stupidest statements I've heard. I hope you have better luck.

Ben

I have full coverage insurance, hopefully there is like $2,000 in repairs. Deductable is $500 which is no biggie.

I'll be sure to let you guys know what happens

I smashed a pretty good size pothole in my car too, it was only about a foot, but boy did it hit hard. It made me yell quite a profane word directly after.

I checked everything out and all is well.... thankfully!

Now that I know its there, i avoid it. It was really bad weather and it was very hard to see.

This pothole was more of a mini-lake in comparison to my car. lol

Got the PT back today...Was only $520.42. $375 of that was the towing portion!

Just had a bent tie-rod and an alignment.
