Default Gt guages hard to see some times?

Anyone noticed it is almost impossible to read the speedometer on these white guages some times? Any suggestions or do I just live with it? I also noticed it is impossible to see the thermometer on the roof during the day when I have lights on.

I noticed it 7 1/2 years ago when I first bought the cruiser, and so did many other owners. Some have been looking to change the dial face. I just put up with it.

I've found it's not a problem as long as you keep the headlights off. The gauge is recessed so that keeps the natural light off of them. When the backlight goes on it's green, so all the numbers become green on a white background making for very poor contrast. I find they're easy to read when the backlight is off. I think you can adjust the backlight on the headlight stalk as well.
