being 48 and living through the 55 mph highways I can tell you it was excruciatingly painful and I would never like to repeat it

First of all if you want to get pissed at a president it should be bush senior.
He is the one that pushed through a bill to deregulate energy prices (to let energy companys compete) this was just another plot to raise prices of oil by that wonderful family. If you realy think that they did that to lower prices come talk to me about a bridge I have for sale..

Right now the problem with gas prices is oil on the stock market and the fact that we have all the day traders trying to make a quick buck, and the government making the oil forcasts. Who do you think is in charge of the government right now BIG OIL

The only way to stick the big oil in the shorts is to stop buying stocks until they drop the price of oil (a boycot if you will) Every time the stock market takes a dive the oil prices take a dive too I say stop buying stocks till them bastards bring the prices to $2.00 a gallon where they belong.

And a response to the suv craze I have one thing to say to that My dad has a 2002 gmc yukon that we took to family easter this weekend it seats 9 we made 22mpg round trip with three couples and a child. now if we would have taken the pt cruiser at say 20mpg I'll throw that number out cause it is the best milage I have ever gotten with it, We would have had to take 2 vehicles and burned more gas yet so just remember that when you point your finger at somebody else there are 10 more pointing at you. Suvs have there place too. The auto makers should be more responsible for the milage that their cars make. There is no damn reason that the cars make this milage things can be done but we live in a time of kickbacks and automakers seem to have little reguard of the milage their cars make and get pissed when we buy forign cars. wake up america!!!

I am absolutly shocked that oil prices havent hit the debate table I think that this should be an issue, and furthermore I think that they should threaten a windfall profit bill unless the oil companys reinvest the monies into upgrading the refinerys. as much profit as they make they should be responsible to upgrade the heart of their operation

I agree with The dixie chicks He is not my president I think they should get an award for there comments instead of being chastized

Red face Re: GAS MILEAGE RANTS

I've got no quams with the folks that "need" large vehicles, and utilize them fully.

But.....I'll bet that 80% of the SUVs I pass every day on the highways around here have "ONLY ONE PERSON IN THEM"!

But, politics aside - NOONE in Congress is doing anything about it right now during the campaign season! That tells you that they are all "in the tank". Too bad we can't burn them too!

I hear you, I live in the next province west of you and it frustrates me too.
