How hard is it to replace the radiator in my 2002? The garages want an astronomical price?

Radiator prices range from $158.00 to $259.00
![]() from local auto parts stores. Garages want $325.00 to $450 for the job. The job doesnt look too difficult, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot. |

It took me about a day to do mine. Best bet is to set aside a weekend where you don't need the car and get the Haynes repair manual! I would recommend that to anyone who ever works on their PT, custom or not. It is mostly just unbolting and re-bolting parts. I will say that I skipped a few steps in the manual to save time though. If those prices included the radiator price, then they arent too bad. If not... that is kind of steep.
