Ohio has the same two plate law and it will cost you a cool $94 if caught. Now here's the best part, on my ticket it gave a breakdown on traffic fines. For example, if the speed limit was 65 and I was stopped for doing 80, my fine would have been $90 (with points of course)!!! Hey officer, put down your radar gun you'll generate more revenue on the one license plate motorist...
How is the "slide to hide" holder going to change a cocky policeman's attitude on giving you a ticket? I actually had my second plate under my seat and placed it on my dash when I was stopped. It didn't matter one bit to him. Like you, I too am bucking the system by still keeping the front plate off of my chrome bumper. Hopefully we can keep sliding on through the men in blue.

I live in Illinois. I have been busted for tint... Told if i turn on the neon's the cops would pounce on me like a pack of dogs. and since I work in springfield I go past the damm trainers at the cop shop at exit 88. They were that last to get me for tint he was waiting to teach class and had a few min so i was a easy score. Here is the realty of it break the law and you pay the fine. You will find out the taking time from work just to lie and get a tint ticket dropped is stupid. I removed the tint and leave the car out in plane sight "parked"with the neon on just to piss them off.

Hummm.. I think I would reverse that statement... I rolled a Renault Caravelle (rear engine two seat roadster....BIG oversteer problem) while not wearing a seatbelt...I bounced around inside that little car like a ping pong ball in a blender! If the door would have opened I would have been flattened.. That was back in '67 and I have worn a seat belt ever since..

I'm from IL too. I like tinted front side windows too altho it's illegal here. You're lucky to get a Drs. note as even those are harder to get now. Some do get a lighter shade on the front in hopes of no ticket.
Glad you got a solution to the front plate. The plastic plate cover law went into effect not long ago.....around where I live people have them and they're so bad and discolored, dirty etc you can't even tell the plate is IL let alone the number on it. The law is the law, I'm not saying I'm perfect but I can see the point, they are just trying to protect themselves....as in dark windows, can't see who is in the car and if there's a gun waiting to blow them away. I have a 21 year old niece training to be an officer so.....I'd like her to be safe. Although I do know the majority is for car show and not doing something bad. Just my 2 cents, glad you have it all taken care of! |
