Would you say that age or miles matter more on a PT?
I worry now about getting a 2001 PT.. but to be honest with our budget (because we don't really want a monthly payment, we want to be able to pay all cash) I'm not seeing a lot of wiggle room beyond a 2001-2002 especially with some of the options we want. Any advice? |

miles, service record & condition.
On an older car though, take into consideration where it has spent it's life... Arizona cars will suffer less from metal worm in the next few years. Up north the winter road salt/grit is a car killer.

Exactly. When I lived in Chicago, I had a 2000 Mazda 626 I bought new, and trying to work on it in 2003, most of the bolts were already rusted and a pain to work on. In 2003, I bought a 1993 Mazda for a second car, but it spent its life in Los Angeles. Every bolt on it came right with no problems on that car compared to a 7 year newer car that spent only a few years in a salt environment.
