Weird issue

I have a weird electrical issue that is going on and I am looking for some help. PT was runnin fine. Turned it off, came out 30 minutes later and turned the key and nothing. Here is where it gets weird. As soon as you turn the key to off and remove it, the speedo needle, tach needle, in fact almost all of the needles jump in unison for about 15 to 20 seconds and then they stop. This keeps happening everytime I try it. Anyone heard of anything like this?

Although I got no responses, I just wanted to let people know it was just a bad battery. I would have never guessed a bad battery would give symptoms like that. So much for my red top optima.

Thanks for being so considerate as to let us know.
Most of the warm weather folks were probably busy at shows this weekend, like me.

Re: Weird issue

We are having a very similar issue today. I drove our 2001 PT home with no trouble. Twenty minutes later, it wouldn't start at all, nor would anything electrical work. When I removed the key from the ignition, all of the gauge needles pulsed for 30 seconds or so. Then all of the dash lights lit up, but the car still wouldn't start. The same thing happened several times in a row. We jumped it off another battery, and it kept running for three or four minutes after we disconnected the cables, but then it stopped and would not start again. We'll have the battery and alternator tested tomorrow. Hope it is the battery as in your case, but I wouldn't have expected the weird stuff with the gauges either.
