Where abouts in Michigan do you live?

Oh yeah - You will love the grille kit! lol
Unfortunately the suite belongs to the company but we can bring a family member as a guest... how old are you? maybe I could slip you in as my illegitimate offspring from a 60's party!?
I live in Warren, north of 8 Mile Rd. near Gratiot. I work in downtown Detroit in a building right on Campus Martius. 2 blocks up from the river. Campus Martius is where they have the Ice Rink and the city Christmas tree in the winter... free concerts in the summer. When the company moved from Southfield to Detroit last December I had my doubts, but we have a parking garage right in the building basement and so far it is pretty neat. Where abouts are you?
I heard the grille kits are U shaped to fit over the edges of the grille, are they pretty easy to install? Is there a paper backing you remove to stick them on? I am guessing I should clean the area with Alcohol before doing it. Any idea how the belt kit is shaped? I am hoping they arrive today so I can mess with it over the weekend..

Hummmm.. bought the grille kit and belt line kit on Ebay from Autogrilles for a special price of $55.(incl. shipping) My PayPal cleared May 19th and still haven't received anything. I called him last week and he told me they are shipped in from Canada (!) and it takes 7-10 days... it is now 13! After reading further in this thread I see there is also a Autogrilles07.. I think I picked the wrong one..which one was the local to Detroit?

I saw the Tigers play about 13 years ago, when I was working in Port Huron. It was a great way to blow off a Sunday afternoon, if I remember right. Plus it was my first "Major League" baseball game. I still have the pendants and the program from the game.

For the last poster, I think Autogrilles07 is the one that's local to Detroit (or close enough in Canada to be local). I could be mistaken though.
Have a great weekend:-)
Patrick.

Luckily the owner and the CTO where I work are big sports fans. In addition to watching occasion games in their suite they have an annual "Night at the ball park" where they rent the whole Pepsi Deck and all the employees (110!) are invited. We can bring one guest and if there are extra tickets maybe more. Food and drinks are free. Plus our office is right downtown and within walking distance to the park so parking isn't an issue either.
Many of us had mixed feelings when our offices moved from the 'burbs (Southfield) to larger quarters right downtown. But some of the perks are pretty neat... Friday we could look out our windows on the 6th and 7th floors and watch the airplanes practice for the Red Bull Air Races over the Detroit river Sunday.

$55 incl. shipping?! For the chrome strips???? AutoGrilles07 (I think) is the one that is from Detroit..Metro Detroit rather. She lives off 17 and Van Dyke. I think I still have her cell #, if you wanted me to give her a call to see if she has anymore, I'd be more than happy to. And yes, a simple peel and stick procedure is used.

I work in Warren, 13 and Ryan. Live in Wixom

I was in Detroit earlier today for a delivery....Too bad Jefferson was all backup or I would have attempted to park somewhere and watch while on the clock hehe.

Yep, not much of a deal... Since I already paid for the strips I guess I am stuck. If they don't come today I'll give him another call and if I can get a refund I'll reorder from your source.
13 and Ryan, we used to live near 9 and Ryan, my son works at 12 and Dequindre. Small world. These gas prices must be costing you a bundle! I see it has dropped down to $3.97 a gallon around here...it is sad when $3.97 sounds cheap! We are going to Flex time this week at work.. 4 ten hour days instead of 5 x 8 hrs. Mostly because of gas prices.. Our department (IS/IT) hasn't switched yet but it will be nice to have an extra day off. I usually put in 9+ hrs anyway (on salary) so it shouldn't be too difficult a transition.

ADDED INFO (3:55PM): My wife called me at work to let me know they came today!

I added the chrome belt line and grille kit. Someone mentioned the grille kit was U shaped but the kit I got was the exact same flat plastic as the belt kit. Same size and everything. Also, each piece was just hand numbered as to location and each piece was about 1-2" too long and had to be trimmed. Looking back I could have bought a roll of that trim from Autozone and created my own kit. It is done and looks pretty good (to me).. maybe a little wave here and there but fairly straight... now for some tasty rims....

Just some quick questions:

What kind of clear coat lacquer did you use?

Did all the slats have to be trimmed or just as you get to the bottom? I have an 05 Convertible.

Thanks.

BTW: I bought mine off of ebay. I thought I'd be getting a big package, so imagine my surprise when there was a small padded envelope waiting for me.

I put mine on after work just before dusk and didn't have the clearcoat. I had planned to do it on the weekend but had a dozen honeydo's to take care of. I am off Wednesday and plan on checking out Autozone for clearcoat then.
Every one of the strips was oversized, so plan on having sharp scissors or snips handy.
Convertible huh.. I am starting to wish I had held out and bought a convert. But it was winter when I bought mine and I never even considered it. I guess the 4 door may be more practical for hauling stuff around, but I also have a Caravan for that...My next PT will be a convertible
