With so many variables like where you live and how you drive it would be hard to tell you and anything would just be a guess. If you fall in the categories of most of the owners on this forum, consider yourself lucky if you average in the lower 20's.

Wow... I feel pretty lucky. Best way to tell is to use a little trick I know.
1. get on the road with a full tank and remember where your odometer is 2. drive on the highway or in the city (whichver you want to test) 3. fill up the tank again and see how many gallons you used and how many miles you added to the odometer. 4. divide the #miles by the #gallons 5. thats how many miles per gallon you got! Using this method I found that I got 27 mpg when I averaged about 85 mph for the whole journey back. |

A little trick? Isn't that the way we all do it? Besides. one of the hardest things to do on a PT is fill it up twice at the exact same amount in the tank. Like QSD does, if you do it for a lot of fill-ups (maybe a whole month) then average them out you have a better chance of finding your average MPG. One time doesn't mean a thing.

I also try to fill the vehicle tank to the same level by filling so some shows in the filler neck to the same level each time, for greater consistency.
