Default Changing Door Lock Pulls

Is there a trick to it? I turned the originals counter clockwise (locks in the unlocked position) and it gets really lose but never comes off. Do I need to pull them off when they get loose? I got a chrome set from Maggie, looks like they just screw on, but for the life of me I can't get the originals off. Do I need to talke pliers and pull?
Thanks!

JG, after you have unscrewed them the opening fits so tight that they won't come off. Yes, you can use pliers, but put something around the jaws so you don't mar the shafts. When you install them, there will be a larger hole. Some have used grommets to take up the slack. They will have to let you know what you need.

Give them a good pull upwards while turning counter-clockwise.

Talking Re: Changing Door Lock Pulls

Yup! Real tight in the hole!
A good manly pull will do the job!

why not take off the door panel and unscew the lock knob instead of tearing up the hole? takes literally a minute and a half to pull off a trim panel.
