Default wire help?

Hi I openned my hood and I saw a wire that came off the bolt on the rt side of the hood and it is sticking out of my hood above my rt fender. I know this doesn't describe it very good . Anyone know what it is? I think it might be a ground. It is a black wire that goes into a metal loop that goes on to the hood??????

I have it on the passenger side as well and yes it's the ground to the hood. If you still have the loop on the wire, then the small screw that attaches that part of the wire to the hood or the fender is missing. Look for a screw hole where it belongs and find another screw that will fit.

I replaced mine with a thicker gauge wire.

The wire just frayed off the screw..I just have to cut and shave the wire and reattach it.

Sorry to bring this thread back. I have been searching but I'm not having any luck finding a picture of where this wire attaches to the body. My ground wire is snapped in half and I'm not sure where it goes to.

If no one else drops in, I'll post a pic of mine on my '06, but may not be the same place as the '04...

Robin,

I changed the wire but used the same grounding points. Compare it with this.
