The only job that's stable anymore is the business of killing .... which is why I joined the Army. I hate most every day of work, but I know where my paycheck to support my family is coming from. So I might be bedridden (or couchridden) from pain on weekends, but at least I don't have to worry about keeping a roof over my kids' heads.

But then going back to the American made bumpersticker ...... It's on a big gas guzzling pickup. So is the message "Buy 12MPG American trucks, so you can support fat Sheiks in Saudi Arabia with terrorist kids?" Maybe people should think before they print bumper stickers. Carry the Trickle Down Economics one step past the consumer.

But screw the 2008 Honda Civic sedan because it's made in Japan ............... what? what's that you said? It's made in Ohio? But isn't Ohio in the UNITED STATES? Never mind then.
I don't know if those bumper stickers are around the U.S, but in Michigan it's huge. Michigan's money comes from the auto companies that are now moving away to different countries. So people driving the Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki are looked down on here. It's a huge blow to Michigan.

I think I'm gonna buy that sticker for my car

BTW - I took that photo, lol.

I know that's how it used to be in MI (born in MI and went to CMU), but if the culture is still discriminating because of a BADGE NAME then Michiganders are dumb as Uppers ...... my Mazda was made in Flat Rock MI. I'm willing to bet you can find just as many American badge cars now made in Mexico or Canada as you can find Asian or European cars made in the U.S. right now. Badge discrimination is just as ignorant as racism. Next time a Michigander wants to pop a car's tires, maybe he should check the VIN first. But then every PT Cruiser that drove through Michigan would be vandalized.

Did you say British? I didn't even get into my dislike of British 'sitcoms' yet.

Honestly can't comment on those, I was young when I moved over here so no blame of bad British television on me!

Who said Michiganders go around vandalising people's cars?? I've never done that, nor have I witnessed anyone do it. Personally, a few friends and I will give the one finger salute to those rice racers/ foreign cars.

No one can say my brother's car isn't American! 1965 Mustang. We built the motor and half of the car ourselves in out garage, which just so happens to be in AMERICA!!!

Well, it's been 15 years since I've last been to Michigan .... but when my family lived in Detroit, foreign cars were regularly vandalized and people's garages were torched every Oct 30th. Maybe things have toned down since then.

Oh yeahhhh! Um, I agree with earlier posts that the dash is obnoxious at night on the Civic.

But the resale is still high for Civics, so if you ended up not liking it, it wouldn't cost you much to ditch it and pick up another PT Cruiser. Honda, Toyota, and Mini are pretty low risk purchases if you don't like them .... just trade them in.
