Default Monkey says Hello

Hello to All out there,just thought I'd introduce myself..I was'nt overly impressed with Cruiser forums 'ere in the UK so thought I would join this one as it appeared to be a tad more active!!..Been always an admirer of the PT and one has just caught my eye on the forecourt of a local Specialist and am really tempted to open my wallet and watch the moths fly out!..However before this very drastic move was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers of what to look out for on a 51 Touring Auto as new to the little beasties..and do want to use it as a daily vehicle...the autos not putting me off as I am a lazy git to the point Mrs Monkey usually half chews my food..plus I get enough exercise with me '55 Austin Cambridge 'Sled!..Any enlightenment would be muchly appreciated!!!?...Advert for said Cruiser can be found at
51 PT Cruiser Touring For Sale at Cleevewood Garage Bristol
..now I know that does'nt tell you alot I just like the pretty picture!!!...If anyone is interested in seeing a piccie of me old sled or visit the ABC Club please do..

Welcome to the forum Monkey.

I'm a member of UK Cruisers.net since I spent 12 years in Harrogate and still have a lot of friends over there. Is that the UK forum you weren't impressed with? Here's the website....

UK Cruiser Club :: Index

The dealer write-up said there's full service documentation with the car so if you can look at it, you can tell if it was regularly serviced. You have different motors over in the UK, or should I say more choices. We only have the 2.4ltr gas engine were you have the diesel, 2.4 gas and 2.0 (not sure if that's gas or diesel), so the one your looking at might be one that we have no knowledge of.

If you treat them right, it's a great little car. They do have parts that go wrong and the biggest complaint I see on the UK site in the front bushings. They don't seem to last very long.

Cheers there Hooligan for the welcome...ooh,I'm always up for fun and the car meet season is just starting so I'm multi tasking and dusting off me old tent as I tippy-tap this..just a pity it does'nt seem to want to stop twattin' rainin' 'ere at the moment..Wotcha Crewzin'..thanks there for the advise...er,umm..ooh,I can't quite remember the sites I viewed before..ooh,look at me being all diplomatic..just noticed with some that some Newbies (hate that word) were just ignored or alot of questions were poo-pooed..hmm,mind you come to think of it I usually get ignored so should fit in really!..Harrogate you say..me dear old Mum comes from around those there parts...what made you leave there to go to Florida!?....er,and y'up I do realise that really is a bit of a stoopid question!!...eh,up did'nt realise you only had a limited choice of Cruisers there..how bizarre...talking of Ltd..some neighbours of ours have a Ltd and slightly covert it every time I see it..unfortunately this weekend it was vandalised with scratches and scuffs (sickening)..but did my best on saturday to help get the damage out the best I could...after a bit of sweat would say it's about 85% better...why the tiddley twot do people do that!?.....Actually saying that about the front bushings they bought theres new around 4 years ago and have had them done twice and the car hasn't done 40,000 m yet!....Off for a test drive later in the week would of preffered the leather interior but think the velour would be livable with as it would be nice and soft on me bottom..especially in the nude..ooh,eh up that's another story!!...Thanks Again there for the welcome and advise...that there Cheeky Monkey
