Default central locking

One small anoyance I have with the central locking on the PT is only the drivers door opening when I press the button, it's only after 2 or 3 presses the rest of the doors and boot unlock.

I know this is a feature but it anoys me and I want to turn it off.
Is it also possible to turn off the auto locking that occurs at 5 mph or so?

That would be great Ron, thanks.
I didn't get an owners amnual with the car.

I've been here since end of Jan, loving it so far especially the cheap fuel prices compared to home.

1)close all doors and place key in ignition
*steps 2 and 3 must be completed within 10 seconds*
2)cycle ignition on/off 4 times ending in off position
3)press interior door lock switch to unlock position
4)a single chime will sound to signify that you have disabled double activation feature.
that should do ya.all doors should unlock now with only one press on remote.

i was born and raised 100 miles south of chicago so i know the area.try to go down to starved rock state park.beatiful area and nice hiking trails.

Thanx for the info...that automatic locking drives me nuts because my car does not unlock when I park it and try to get out.

to shut off auto-lock(when you hit 15 mph) you hit lock instead of unlock. other than that the steps are the same

Top stuff Ron thanks!
I'll be out in the car park at lunch time to sort it out!

I'm a mountainbiker in my spare time so I've been checking out the parks and woods that have trails in the Chicagoland area, not much elevation change but some really nice single track in Palos which is only 15 mins from me.

Why would you want to turn off the auto lock? If it wasn't for that feature my wife would always forget to lock her door. I've seen what happens to people that don't lock their doors and crash. It isn't pretty.

as it's central locking there's no chance of not locking passenger or rear doors when parking the car, if you mean while driving, unless you are in da hood and getting worried why would you want the doors to lock?
I f I have an accident the last thing I want is a fireman smashing a window in my face to get into the car.
All Euro Ncap testing is done with the doors unlocked, they consider it safer.
