Re: Got rid of my wifes PT
I have entertained trading in for something that gets about 30 in town, a little econobox, like a Yaris, even a Smart car.
The Yaris gets 30, but is rated as noisy, barely adequate. Plus there's that Toyota price...and yes, I own a Toyota, they are fantastic(TUndra).
The Kia/Hyundai twins are lower priced, 27-30 in town, but you have to pay several thousand extra to get something you would really want to spend any commute time in.
Suzuki just doesn't get the mileage to justify the economy box image.
Cobalt...yeah, the xfg or whatever they call it sounds neat, 36 highway, up to 43 even. If you read Chevys site, they refer to "tweaking the engine, but retaining the same hoursepower, different tires with less rolling resistance, and a driver info center to help mileage(sounds like a fancy vacuum gauge to me). Plus the dealers here want 16,000 for a stripped one.
Honda Civic, again, great value, high price.
But when I figure the increase in mileage vs. the payments(ain't rich enough to pay cash), it don't compute!
I can get a new PT for 10 grand more or less in Phoenix. With the lifetime warranty, it doesn't seem too bad after all.......
