Having the plates stolen sucks but I noticed it the day it was done and got new plates the next day. Also everyday coming home from work I check out my PT and make sure it was not bothered or if anything is missing. Cause I dont drive to work and its parked on the street so my neighbor usually keeps and eye on it and my friend gets home early so since he lives near me he sees it everyday.

Just got the front windows tinted today that was my first mod so now its time for me to get the taillights and those screws so they are not stolen.

You might want to scratch your SSN or some other identifying number on the inside of each light in case you ever have to identify it since you live in that kind of area. Maybe even a small scratch on the outside (for ID and hardly noticeable) so you can tell they are yours if they're stolen and you see some on a cruiser in your area.

To add to Crewzin's identifying scratch method: not so sure I'd wanna put my SSN on there, but something like a small pattern, like an asterisk or star or something that is clearly NOT random --- think of it like a small tattoo! --- then take a photograph: just as backup proof, if necessary, that the item IS yours.

What % did you get? on your windows?

I got my backup camera on my license plate, it comes with Anti-Theft screws, need a special kind of wrench to remove them. Thinking I may do that with my tail lights.

I got 35% which is legal here in NYC it looks so nice very happy with the way it looks now. I was thinking of getting a backup camera or just the sensors on my bumper.

The camera is nice....Nice to watch people get on your a$$ sitting at lights, lol.

35% is a little more transparent than the factory tinted windows in the back. Atleast you won't be in any trouble with the law!

YUP! Best way to get PROFILED in NYC is to be Black/Asian in a ride with tinted FRONT windows! or White in the 'Hood for any reason..

I got pulled over in the 'Hood this week and got the "Your tint is illegal" BS until they saw it was factory glass. Fronts are clear which the cop said was the law, but he was still "trolling" for why Whitey was in the 'Hood.

I pointed to the new School under construction a block away and informed him I was the Chief Inspector for the Structural Engineer and "Yes, Whitey has a reason to be in the 'Hood".

[quote=CREWZIN;234079]They were stealing plates in Philadelphia and Richmond also. Apparently what they do is steal the plate and cut the corner square off the plate that holds the registration sticker. Then they stick it on their own car making it look like their car is registered for another year.
QUOTE]

That happened to me, they had snips and just cut the corner of the plate with the sticker off. I think it cost me $35 to get a new reg. To help solve that problem in CT. They are now giving you a sticker that goes on the inside of the windshield. This thing is about 2"x 3". So if they want it now they will have to break a windshield, which won't do them any good because when they try to scrape the sticker off, it will not come off in one piece, thus it won't be valid .
