Default Parking sensor

Hi everyone, I hope i've put this in the right place. My friend has just got a (Y) reg, united kingdom, pt cruiser and she wants to turn the reverse parking sensor off has she lives on a steep drive and reversing out in the morning is driving her crazy. Any suggestions would be great. PS she is missing the handbook but I have downloaded one and still couldnt see anything relating to parking sensors. many thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Ratdaddy has a good idea but I guess it wouldn't work for your friend. Hopefully someone from the UK or with a PT from overseas will see your post and know how to disconnect the reverse parking sensor because that's not an option on the U.S. models.

Meanwhile, you could join the UK Cruiser here: UK Cruiser Club :: Index and they might be able to help you.

Actually, thinking more about it; if his friend didn't have a manual (handbook in England), it probably means the PT was bought used and the annoying backing sensor was probably added by the previous owner and not part of the option package with the cruiser.

macca325, if your still around, tell your friend to put the car in reverse and when the beep, beep beep of the reversing sensor starts up, follow the noise till she finds the beeper and rip the damn thing off.
