Air conditioner probs.

I'm new to this. I have an 04 cruiser (nothing special). Air conditioner won't work. Seems like an electrical prob. Can't find a fuse????? Doesn't seem like compressor starts. Any help appreciated. I tried to download free P.T. manual but no luck. Did download .torrent. I live in Redding, CA (HOT).

Welcome to the forum.

Very few problems with the air-conditioning system turn out to be electrical. Usually, it's a loss of coolant that the high pressure valve senses and turns off the compressor. Why not have it checked out at a shop that specializes in auto air-conditioning? A lot of shops do the diagnostics for free hoping to make the money when you ask them to fix it. If it's just a matter of topping up the fluid it shouldn't cost much.

Some Mopars have problems getting through the winter without loosing some charge. At the start of spring when the a/c is turned on it won't cycle. The system will be low, but not empty. Some shops then try to convince you that you have a leak and will replace expensive parts and then next spring same thing... I know you live in CA so that probably won't be the case for you with it not surviving the winter, (unless you get -40 there like me!). But I would think that shops would try to gouge the same there.

My last bill for recharging the a/c was I think about $60 for the freon (actually 134a I believe) and another $60 for labor.
