Yeah I was a Victim back about 5 years ago with those tails. I Loved the design of the GEN 1 but the quality was TERRIBLE!

Yea, I had the APC Gen I or was it Gen II tail lights for awhile. Whichever ones they were, the red lens inside melted and the outer lens looked like they were scratched.

I've got one of those APC filters from Autozone as well. I bought it for an old mercury Sable that had a cracked airbox, but I never put it on though.
Do you just use the K&N oil on the filter after you wash it?

Does the APC filter you have say it's washable. If not, it may be just a sponge or paper material and not meant for washing and reuse.

Yeah it's a washable filter. I wanted a reusable one so I would save money on filters in the long run. The generic one didn't come preoiled like the K&Ns
I know the K&N's are preoiled & autozone sells the cleaning/re-oiling kits for post washing. I was just wondering if that's what everyone was using. or if they were using something else.
I don't think I'll use the red on on the PT though. I see the generic short ram kits on ebay for $30 after shipping. They're acctually cheaper than the filter I originally bought without the intake tube. I may get one in blue since they are cheap enough. I wanted to add some metalic blue accents to the car. Some of the small interior trim pieces maybe some braided hose covers & wires in the engine compartment, ect, but nothing to flashy.

Also, I saw some colored (Red, Blue, Gray and Yellow) cone shaped filter at both Auto Zone and Pep Boys you could pick up to match whatever your doing.
