In 3/2008 I bought a 2008 PT manual transmission. With 20,000 miles, whenever the temperature exceeded 80 degrees outside, it was increasingly resistant to shifting into 1st or 2nd. I took it repeatedly to the dealer (of course under warranty) and they couln't identify a problem...until end of summer 2009 with 25,000 miles they said I needed a new clutch, despite repeatedly telling me they could find no problem nor simulate the problem. Not until a service person took my car home and drove it for 2 weeks did they determine a new clutch was needed. Also told it wouldn't be covered under warrantee...said wear and tear. So...that was last summer. Winter went fine; however when temps again rose above 80 degrees outside this June...identical problem began to happen, now at 45,000 miles. Didn't want to go through that again. Will never own another PT again. Chrysler denies problems...now its no longer MY problem.
