Sore topic. I've tagged 3 deer with PTs. 1 with my '02, 2 with my '05.
Those damed "hooved rats" don't have insurance, either!

I remember back in the mid seventies my boss at the time was driving an International Scout. He hit a deer broad side and it pushed in the whole front end of the Scout and pushed the radiator back into the fan. It was a mess.

Man! And here I thought me hitting that raccoon was bad! As small as it was, it still managed to split my bumper in two by the right fog light and completely maim my radiator. I had to walk 3 miles home.

A few years ago, I was driving south of Omaha in a 1995 Olds and a deer ran in front of me. I hit him with the left front of the car. He laid/sat on the side of the highway for a long time after I turned around and went back. He was alive and looking at us. I thought He should 2-4 broken legs at the least. As I was talking to the 911 operator, the deer got up and walked off the way he came. Told the operator that either it was alright or a dead deer walking. I never found out, the damage he did was over $2000. Hate to think what it would have been like if I was in the cruiser.

The Best Deer story I ever heard/saw Was One night a truck driver from the company I work for came in carrying the grill, from his new Mack truck,All he said was "Dam deer committed suicide" no other visible damage other than the grill getting knocked out. Me personally I have never hit a deer.I came close a few times but never actually hit one.

Up around Flagstaff, Az. it's the Elk. Arizona deer are kinda like Greyhounds, not much to 'em. We average 1-2 fatalities a year from people hitting Elk with cars. Saw a Swift semi wiped out, front axle ripped from underneath, front clip in pieces.
