The only time the engine temp rises over the normal operating temp is when I turn the ac on, then it goes up quick to the "red" area. Any ideas?
Its an all stock 02 pt cruiser, no turbo. radiator cap is new, and coolant is full. |

Welcome.
Open the hood, start the engine, then turn A/C on - you should hear engine fan come on - that's my bet, that fan died - it has 2 speeds, sometimes one speed dies.
