Anyone have info on this car? V8 RWD PT

I was checking out Mr Mikes site when I came across this car. I would like to know more info about the car if anyone else has seen it. What engine, is the engine bay/frame/wheelbase stock? Essentially I wouldn't mind knowing how they did it. I love the looks of the PT, hate the 4 banger. I wouldn't go to the extreme that these guys did, but wouldn't mind a nice 300hp V8 RWD PT, especially if it could be shoe horned in that the dash could remain stock as well as the backseat!

Going to drag race to work? You wouldn't hate the 4 banger if it was turbo'd. With my '03 GT I ate V8s all of the time. My Neon SRT-4 is even faster.

I went to a show in Virginia and there was a V8 PT but I don't have any information about it.

If I remember right there was one I saw, but they had to move the firewall back about 6". One I saw had racing slicks on the rear, no back seat as the wheel well had to be indented about 10-12".

I heard Hennessey had worked on a V-10 PT. Is that the one?

I had just been trying to find out if a V8 could be fit without major body mods. If it would it may do doable for around the same cost of finding a hit GT and doing a turbo swap.

Ben,

Not sure, but this V10 PT was shown a few years ago at Cruise the Falls in Canada and was on show with other custom PT Cruisers that were built by Chrysler.

The V10 was put into this custom PT with the hacked off rear end.


The other customs that were shown .....




...also a red convertible was there a year or so before any convertibles hit the showroom floor.

No. You're not going to because it'll involve converting to a rear wheel drive platform. You MIGHT be able to find a V6 with a FWD transmission that can be shoehorned in with a little firewall cutting. But a V8? Not without a complete center tunnel cut-out for a drive-axle and then a rear axle swap.

Since it's already got an engine with existing turbo options, it'd be silly anyways. There's support for a reliable 400 HP off-the-shelf as is.
