Cammie,
Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your problem. It used to be if a car won't run you check two things; gas and spark. Nowadays there's a million things that can stop a car from running. Don't know when this happened but is the car just sitting there now in the little league football parking lot?? Can you get it to an Auto Zone or car store that can read what the computer has to say. If the CEL (Check Engine Light) came on, the computer will store a code to help you/us/anyone diagnose your problem. Are you still under warranty. Didn't your year come with the 7 year 70,000 mile warranty? If so, you need to get it to the nearest dealer.

Cammie,
What kind of mileage do you have on the PT?? If your under the mileage requirement for the warranty and just over 2 months on the time, calling Chrysler or the area rep and explaining that you've done all the maintenance requirements and the timing belt went out sooner that was explained to you in the owners manual, might get you some help with some of the expenses.......providing you did keep up with the maintenance and the mileage is under 100,000.

Replacing timing chain and water pump should be around $800-$900+. Dealer is putting the screws to you.

Like Crewzin said, "If your under the mileage requirement for the warranty and just over 2 months on the time, call Chrysler"!!
It wouldn't hurt to check with them, you haven't said how many miles you have on your PT.
