The low pressure hose coming out of the firewall split on my wife's 2005. Is this covered under the extended warranty? The dealer won't answer the question over the phone. In fact, it is actually their policy not to answer warranty questions over the phone.
I don't feel like driving 20 minutes to the dealer, taking the hour long shuttle ride home, waiting all day for an answer only to find out that it isn't covered. BTW, does anyone know where a lay person can get their warranty questions answered? Is there a website, phone number or other resource?

Just some questions. Do you have the extended powertrain warranty? You should have some documentation when you bought the PT or the separate warranty when you bought it. That should tell you something. If it's the Powertrain warranty then it's probably not covered.

I doubt it is covered. It's a hose and they are wear items. The powertrain warranty is only for lubricated items.

I suppose it really depends on how it was worded. With my extended warranty my dealer told me said items had to be involved in lubrication. I hope it's covered. It's what an extended warranty should do for the $1k+ you spend on it.

We can debate this until the cows come home, but you are going to have to just go for it. Nobody ever knows what the dealer will and won't cover, they're that inconsistent. Just do it.

It is a Chrysler Maxi-Care warranty. I spoke to someone else at the dealership and got the answer. The hose was covered. There was a $100 deductible. Not too bad. The R-134 replacement alone was close to that much.
