Seems like a stupid question but I have to ask...
I have a PT Cruiser 2004 Touring. From the stuff I've read, the engine is suppose to be 180Hp non-turbo. However some of the stuff I read suggests that my car may be a 220Hp turbo. Following makes me think it's not just a standard 180hp non-turbo: Has Autostick Has Traction Control Has 17" rims Has the spoiler at the back Following makes me think it is just a plain 180hp non-turbo: No badging at the back (i.e. Turbo) No marking on the engine (i.e. 2.4 Turbo) No "Premium Fuel Only" sticker on the fuel lid. Can anyone clear this up for me? |

That's where my confusion lies...
My PT is labelled as Touring (not Grand Touring or GT) and there is no "Turbo" labelling anywhere. |

You sure you have the autostick cause it sounds like you have just a base model. The intake manifold in the 180 hp turbo lite is metal and says turbo on it and if yours is plastic then it really sounds like you have the base. Show me a pic of your engine bay and I can tell you what you have.

Go to a dealer and give them your VIN #, they will be able to tell you what kind or type of PT you have. They also can tell you if any or all recalls have been done.

Thanks for the tip... I'll drop into a dealer and see how I go.
In the meantime, here are the photos to muse over. Note: I took these photos when it was dark, though the detail I'm trying to show is there... |

That's a non turbo PT. The hose off of the airbox should go down to the turbo and not connect right to the throttlebody. The hose on the throttlebody should go down and connect to the intercooler.

Besides the hoses, that's the upper manifold from a Non-Turbo engine. None of the turbo's has it.
