Default Hestitation when accelerating above 50mph?

I liked the Pts for years and finally found an 03 at a good price. I love the versatility and the appearance, my problem is when I accelerate getting on the freeway for example, my car hestitates as if I'm not getting enough fuel or spark. When I get past 55 or 60, all is well and there is no hesitation. My dummy light (check engine) isn't on, I was just wondering if anyone had similar issues or fixes..

Welcome to the forum.

Do you know anything about the history of the PT? Last tune-up?

Most stumbles and hesitations can be cured with new plugs and wires. It's the simplest answer to most complaints.

If Your PT has less than 50K, it probably has the original plugs and wires which most us feel are crap from the factory. Almost any brand name plugs and wires are better than the OEM parts that came out of Mexico.

It may be obvious, but it's only a 4-cylinder, lol. When I drive a work van (V-8) and I get on the interstate it's smooth as anything getting into traffic...When I leave to go home, it feels as if I have to floor it to get up to speed so I'm not cutting people off.
