I plan to install a oogah horn in my 06 PT Crusier, I already searched the forums and I couldn't find anything on 06 crusiers. I plan to have a seperate button for the oogah horn, thereby avoiding any legal issues, but how do I wire it, i.e. where should I run the wires. Thank you for your time.

Here's how I did mine. There's two wires from the horn, positive and negative. I ran the positive wire from the horn to a spare hot fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. I then ran the grounding (negative) wire from the horn thru the firewall (there's a round grommet that goes thru the firewall that also has the hood release cable and there's room for other wires to go thru also) and ran the wire to one side of a push button that I put in the spare space in the dash center console. I then ran a wire from the other side of the push button to a ground under the dash. So when the push button is pushed (it's spring loaded), that grounds the circuit and the horn goes Ahooga. Picture below is where I put the square push button in the dash. The other red rocker button is for the under car lights.

Hey Crewzin,
Thank you for your heads up on routing the wires through the hole in the firewall for the hood pull cable. I already got it installed today and it sounds great. Thanks for your help. Cheers, Kevin F. |
