Default PT Cruiser SRT. Why is there none?

Why do you suppose Chrysler did not make a PT cruiser SRT. I would give my left nut for one.

Umm No...Chrysler SRT8 300C?? The GT was just the same as an SRT to me cause the engine was similar to the SRT-4....

You are right, I missed that one. The main reason is the same reason they pulled the Stage 2 upgrade out from under the PT turbo owners. The famed 41TE auto tranny that comes in probably 95% of GTs and all of the turbo lites. That auto tranny is very weak and can't handle the torque. You can't very well have an SRT vehicle that has a tranny that can't handle the power. The 41TE has a hard enough time not breaking on the na 150 hp PT. Been there, done that.

Yeah I was always told that the PTs Tranny was weak and on many DC vehicles for that matter. They also have the Jeep SRT-8... Which is pretty Hot too...

Also in '05 they also had an SRT6 Chrysler Crossfire, but who knows the thinking behind the names, if they had really wanted to there could have been a 5 Speed only SRT PT edition, but maybe they did not want to take away from the original SRT4 by having 2 four cyl. SRTs in the same year?
Who knows?
