Engine is over....cooling?!

Default Engine is over....cooling?!

Well it's storming up here in Michigan the past few days and this afternoon on my 30mile drive home, I noticed my temp. gauge reading BELOW half. See pic below:



Anyone know what could be causing this? Maybe it's just the rain?? Actually before I got home, the needle was BELOW the first line above the blue.

Lets hope it's the rain


Please no talk about me taking a picture going 50mph while driving.

Many things I read up on for this situation leads me to believe the Thermostat might be bad...

Cathy might be on to something. If your thermostat stays open, it will take a heck of a long time for your water temperature to reach normal heat range.

Let's see, your up in Michigan, summer is almost over ......You won't have hardly any (if any) heat. I'd replace it.
