Hi All,
I'm new to this forum and would like some recommendations on brake replacement parts. I used to be a member of a Maxima forum and there were a few recommended companies to get brake parts from - good products, good prices. I was wondering if anyone can recommend sources here on this forum. I've already done the front brakes on my PT, but I got parts from the local auto parts. Probably not the best parts or prices. I ended up replacing the rotors because they're so thin! Now it's time for front and back brakes. Any help or recommendation with good parts and where to get them for my 2005 PT would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Bill |

I use HAWK pads on both my PT and Vette. I go on-line and look for the best price. Good stopping power, no noticeable fade and very little dust. A few members go for the NAPA ceramic pads with no dust.

Thanks guys!
Any tips on good prices/retailers for rotors and drums? (I learned the first time that the rotors are so thin, I couldn't turn them!!) I'm guessing it's the same for the drums. Not looking for hi performance slotted/drilled rotors, jut stock, or a step above. Thanks, Bill |

I wouldn't think your drums would need anything, and maybe not even new shoes. The PT is heavy and 80% or more of the braking is done on the front pads so the rear shoes/drums should last about 3 times longer. I replaced my rear shoes with 90,000 miles. The drums were still good and the shoes had about 50% life left on them.
Your right about the front disks thought. The same time the pads wear out, the disks are usually too thin to turn and need replacing also. I seared eBay and bought slotted and drilled disks there. You do take a chance on eBay stuff but mine worked out fine.
