painted bumpers
Quick question here
Why some bumpers are painted and some are not? I have a 2004 and the bumpers are painted, and most of the pt i see the bumpers are not painted. Anybody know's why.

Welcome to the Forum. Chrysler decided to paint the bumper in 2003 and on. Prior to that with the tape that was used left a residue and if you look at 01 & 02's you'll see a mark close to the body. Hard to cover by your self, at one time it was a warranty repair. I haven't heard of anyone lately who has had it done using warranty.

Funny that my dad has a 2003 and his bumpers are not painted, is there a special date for the 2003 that they started painting them?

I want to one day get mine painted....The textured bumpers are crap, and just my rear bumper (which was replaced) has worn out the color because there was no UV Protectant added to it.

I thought base models in 2003 did not have painted bumpers but all the others did.

Painted bumper on ALL models started in 2004 I believe.
