Agreed, pushed 30+ MPG on my way between St. Pete and Orlando every time. My best so far is 34

I noticed that both CopperTop (28mpg) and PTmodrod (34mpg) both have 5sp models. That must make a huge difference.

I think that it makes a difference too, though i find it interesting that mine is revving higher at 65 in 5th gear than my brothers auto in 4th

I am new to the PT-Cruiser. I have to say that it is rapidly getting to be one of my favorite cars of all time. I got it used for my wife, but find I am driving it most of the time by choice. In fact I am going to sell my Mercedes as it is now surplus to me and just sitting there and not being used. There are two main things I like about the car.

1. I am a gadget geek and have many devices I take with me when driving. There are many many power ports in the car, at least on my touring edition. Some switch off with the key some don’t that is very convenient for me.

2. The car is not fragile. It seems to be built to take a beating, so to speak, and keep on ticking. Parts and maintenance are very easy to come buy and you do not need to hock your first born to get them. Unlike other vehicles I have.

Wow. My 2006 has only ONE powerpoint... the lighter. (and no ashtray, which isn't a problem for me, as I don't smoke, but I've often wondered why a lighter and no ashtray)

My 2002 has 3. 2 in the center section of the dash (One with a picture of a battery, one with a picture of a key. The key one is low, right by the front 2 cup holders.) and one in the rear area just inside the lift gate on the right.
