Default Slight scratch imperfection

.....well,after returning home from a ticketty boo time at a Rodders meet last weekend in really muddy field.I returned home and set about cleaning off half a field off my undercarriage...in the midst of said much cleaning for some reason have found a rather annoying scratch to a rear window around 3 inches long..can't think what would of caused it...but it's annoying the 'ecky thump outta me!!!...Just wondered if anybody had any ideas I could possibly try before a trip to a specialist in his field[so to speak!]...The offending scratch is not very deep and if the sun is'nt onnit,it's not really noticable..but I know it's there,if you run you're finger along it..it is smooth!!Anyhoo, thought it was worth a question!?

Monkey, before you do anything wild, try a good type of wax to see if it covers it. Reading your post, you state, "It is smooth". Candyman a contributor on here may have additional info. Wait for his input, don't paint or use rubbing compound until you hear his answer as you don't want to screw it up. Cheers!!!

I agree, wait for Candyman.

In the meantime, have you heard of Griot's Garage? They make all kinds of specialty products for the truly obsessed car owner (I guess that's me). I keep a number of their products in the garage and one is a glass polish that helps take scratches and imperfections off of glass. It does work pretty good and I use it on all the cars and around the home.

Other auto stores might carry something similar.

.."well I went out shopping in the car with my dear old Gran today..doin' me good deed for the day and all that!..She was no sooner in the car Bless Her and she started shouting out"W'ere going to fast..w'ere gonna crash,we're goin' to fast w'ere gonna crash!"..This carried on solidly for ages, eventually after 3 miles I said.."For Goodness Sake,Granny..Pull over and let me drive!"
..back to the case in hand..Many Thanks for the responses much appreciated..will be lookin' into "Zanio" there Bob..must admit I've been reallly tempted there Hooligan to get all impatient and do something drastic but have stopped myself and have only cleaned & polished said glass plus the rest of the car..which has resulted in finding a twattin' sone chip now right in the middle of the screen...not that these pesky things ever happen in out of the way places..hmm,or perhaps they do..it's just there er,out of the way!?????..Can't say I've heard of "Griotz" thereCrewzin..but have now so will be having a shufty at the first oppertunity!!!..Can sympathise there Careyk..not so long ago in a nasty thunderstorm my wipers were working so hard the blade flew off and resulted in a nasty groove in the screen where the metal hit the glass..quite upset my day..almost to the point of dropping my pork pie I was eating at the time!!!..Anyhoo,Thanks again for the replies and will hold on for any advise that Candyman can offer obviously ..he's a man that knows!!!!!!........Ooh,and before anybody gets to upset about porkie pies and dangerous driving..ofcoarse that was just my little joke!!!!..............if I remember correctly..I believe it was a bowl of Corn Flakes!???
