Default sluggish take off and low power

i noticed today that my wifes 2004 PT turbo was missing some power during take off. if you take off kind of slow its ok, but if you try to take off fast its kind of sluggish and doesnt want to get going, then you hear a ding and the engine light comes on for a second, then goes out.

also when i was doing about 45 mph and tried to get into the passing gear it kind of bogged down and made what sounded like a back fire noiseunder the hood. i have no idea what to do here. please help.

Asgood, it could be anything...could be cylinder probs, fuel, firing problems...I mean anything... When I first purchased mine...it was loud and sounded like a backfire, cuz my turbo hose came off!

Then, nozzles in the one of my cylinders was plugged, with caused the cylinder to malfunction, which wouldn't allow the car to go above 2000rpms...could be anything....
