Wow! just received an email from a writer from the New Your Times. I don't know how he got my name or email address. He said; " I am doing a story for the New York Times special section on “Cars” about car clubs for non-exotic models, so the Cruiser would fit in well" and gave me his email and phone number.

Guess I'll give him a call and see what he wants. I sure don't read the Times but might pick up a copy if he includes what I say. Hope I don't make a fool out of myself.

That's great cruzin, good luck. I have a question for you, you had a thread on error codes in the past, I can't seem to get the key thing to work, looking for help, got some time to explain. I have engine light on and the car is bucking like crazy. My shadetree mech. is old school and really hasn't worked on any Cruisers, I would like to help him out the an error code. I have already printed a list of codes, just can't seem to get the good to show up on the odometer.

OK, Within 5 seconds turn the key from OFF to ON (without actually starting the engine) 3 times and the third time leave the key pointed towards the windshield. The error code should show up in the middle dial .

I had trouble in the past. Just turn it from "OFF" to the first detent which is "ACC", rather than the second detent which is "START". You should be able to check it that way.
