Some lady backed up into me!

Yup, I got off work last Thrusday, and I was at the stop light. This lady in a truck with the darkest/dumbest tinted windows you can have backed into the front bumper of my 01 PT. We were at the stop light, and she got too close to the intersection. Well, she tried to back up a little, yet she never noticed I was right behind her. When she put her truck in reverse, I did the same on the PT, but there was a few more cars behind me, so I couldn't move what so ever. She slowly backed into me, and she pushed agaist the unpainted front bumper of the PT. She had a custom fiber glass bumper on her Chevy truck, and the thing just made the nastiest slow cracking noice ever. We both got off the cars to see the damage, but the PT was fine; but her truck is on crack now. I told her it was ok, and we both went our ways. Nothin happened to the PT, and I was amazed to say the least. If my bumper had been painted, I don't know how pissed I would have got, or as to how bad the damage would have been so that I would have called the cops and have her insurance fix my car. Oh, I forgot to mention; she still had her 30 day I just got a new car happy tag.

Heck, she deserves to have her whole bumper just fall off for that one!

Have your bumper checked anyway. There is styrofoam behind it as an energy absorbing material. If that was cracked, the strength of your bumper may be affected.

Yup, and i will take the bumper off just as soon as it stops raining. Hopefully the styrofoam absorber is ok, and I would say so because she wasn't even going over 2mph. It was just the push that made me get off the car.

Hey Everyone,

My Wife, and Daughter were out getting fast food once upon a time a couple years ago, and had a guy in a Nissan Titan back out into them. Just a light tap, but the way it hit, it took out the hood, left fender, headlight, grille, bumper, and lower valence! I remember both of them walking in the house crying cause they couldn't figure out how to tell me the PT was wrecked!

Honestly, the first thing that ran through my mind was.....I am glad you are ok, and, since we had a couple of small rock chips in the bumper, hood, and grille, we are now on our way back to having near perfect paint again....Sweet! Big hugs, and kisses to Momma, and Daughter, and off to my buddy at the body shop for some fun time!

Unless its a bad one, I try to see small fender benders as opportunities to upgrade! Maybe you've been wanting a Crusher front end for your PT, but never had the money. Some poor guy accidentally back into you, and your faced with the opportunity to maybe pay the difference over a stock one, get paint for free since they were gonna repaint the other one anyways, and bam, went from trajedy to Cruising in style in a heartbeat!

Ya never know! Just got to see the bright side!
