New to the Game

Hi,

Im new to the forum and also a new owner of a 2001 LE PT Cruiser 5-speed. I was doing great with it and the only repair done so far is replacing the Power Steering Pressure Sensor. I don't have any of the prev owners maint records. Here is where the problem comes in. Two days ago I was sitting idle for maybe 10 to 15 min with my A/C running when I noticed this bubbling or gurgling noise coming from up under the hood. I immediately turned the car off. 15 min later I restarted the car w/no problem. Well today I was out for a little bit and when I was idle at a stop light I heard the noise again. The temp gauge started going up but when I started to drive again the temp went back normal. It did this up down sequence til I got home. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be and if you had this problem tell me what your solution was. I keep seeing threads about the fan but I don't have a owners manual and Im kinda confused about the high and low fans. Can someone explain to me about the differance between the two?

Sorry I can't help you with some advice about your issue. I sure someone will be along soon that can though...in the mean time welcome.

Sounds like you have a fan speed problem. Do a search to find out how to check it out. The radiator fan has two speeds and one it shot.

Hi,

Thanks for the reponses. I actually just got back from a shop and the only thing they can find is that the radiator hose was loose causing a trickle of fluid to be released. He tightened up the clamp on the hose and added more antifreeze and so far so good its working . I will keep a close eye out on it and will keep everyone posted. Thanks again to all who replied.

Im kind of new here as well but from what i have read it is most likely a bad fan they seem to be a little bit of a weak spot id get ready to replace it or maybe have it checked out these cars don't like to get to hot
