Default Rust bubbles!!!

So I was gassing up at the local Kwik Trip in the far north metro area of Minneapolis, MN and I happened to look at my roof by the sunroof which is where I saw four different places about the size of pencil erasers where the paint had bubbled up much like it would if there were rust forming underneath it. I havn't had the time to really inspect them and it is much too cold now to do a touch up. has anybody else had this problem? Or am I the first?

My personal mods so far- removed white air restricter, white hibiscus flowers sticker above the rear hatch lock, nice white primer/rust splotch underneath the passenger side tail light from bodywork...more to come once the money starts flowing freer and the car is payed off

I have a sunroof and haven't had that issue, however, I live in Southern California.

Yeah, I live im MN so rust could potentially be a problem, the rust bubbles are not directly around the sunroof, they are tiny isolated spots on my roof. I will most certainly try to get pictures of them posted here on Sunday... If I can remember to have my wife remind me

Well, not to double post, but here are two pictures I took of the rust bubble, (for some reason I can't find the other ones.)

It looks like time for a paint job on the roof.

What concerns me is in the top photo-lower right--seems to be a rather large paint chip. This could be the root cause of the rust bubbles you are dealing with now.

Chrysler, like all other manufactures, warranty paint for rust/perferation from the inside out--in this case it appears that you are suffering from the outside in. I would still have it checked if there is any possibility of warranty coverage. If you don't ask then the answer is automaticaly NO.

Keep us informed.

Was your roof ever repainted at some point? Previous owner maybe? Those bubbles seem pretty far away from the sunroof and the paint chip for water to have gone that far.

Boy, I so do not miss the damage winter does to a car. With my last car, a Mazda, I put three exhaust systems (mufflers and pipes) on it in the 6 years I had it in Cleveland. When I moved the very same car to California, I never replaced another muffler in another 6 years. And then I noticed... there are very few muffler shops here!

Well, the car is out of it's warranty period being that it has almost 90,000 miles on it. I bought it at 51,000 miles so I highly doubt that the roof was ever painted. Closer inspection did reveal that there was a paint chip at the base of the rust bubble. Yeah, I don't like winter either.
