Default Oil in the filter case

So, I've had my 2008 PT Vert T-lite for 3K miles now. Bought from dealer with 22K on it. I check the air filter today, and its filthy. Has oil spots on it also (wish I'd taken pix of it). I look down into the case, and this is what I see. A very oily breather filter (foam) and oil in the bottom of the case (see photos). My question is: is this generally considered "normal", or do I have a PCV problem?

Blowby is very normal for any turbo engine. I have an 07 and have the same thing. just clean the oil out of the air box on occasion.

Agree. Normal. Do a search on "catch can"...

Cool Re: Oil in the filter case

Normal, as many have posted on this.
Although my GT vert doesn't seem to have as much oil blowback as some.
I use the cleaner for my AirRaid filter (on the other PT) to clean the filter sponge every time I get an oil change.
Air filter was very clean this time.

my air filter has 19,000 miles on it with little oil or dirt on it. Also, the little filter is pretty clean, and soap and water clean the oil off it when it becomes dirty.

I used a carburetor spray cleaner on my foam piece and it cleaned it right up.
