Question Help Relocating Battery

Hi all..can anyone give me steps to relocate my battery on my 05 Vert to the trunk area. Specifically how do I connect it to the regular connections in the engine bay and what gauge wire do I need to run? Is it OK to run these wires under the car?

Thanks Gang
Dave

Advance Auto has cable you can buy by the foot. Buy the fattest - it can't hurt to have wires too big, only too small...
You can also buy rubber tubing there - pull the cable thru the tubing for added protection and you should be fine running it under the car - but you'd want to clamp the cable, not just let it hang.

Most of the major auto stores will sell battery relocation kits that will have everything you need or if you ever bought anything from SUMMIT Racing, I know they carry the kit, check their catalog.

I've been thinking about doing something similar, only instead of relocating the battery, adding a second one behind the rear seat. I have several two way radios that I would just as soon leave running 24/7 as well as some non emergency flashing lights that can at times be left on for several hours. While the lights are all LED's and shouldn't run down the battery, I'd like that safeguard. I'd run the battery cables through the firewall by drilling out the plate covering where the master cylinder for the clutch for manual transmission cars would normally be at, I have an auto.

For my needs it wouldn't take a very big second battery. Even if it would run down at some point, by using an isolator, my primary battery woujld still be fully charged to start my Cruiser with.
