Hi everyone!! Long, long time no see. Hope everyone is doing great

We are going to be buying most likely a second PT!

So I was wondering if you guys would look at this and tell me if it's a good car, good deal, etc. It will be my hubby's work vehicle but occasional family vehicle.

Sorry, I've never had to finance a car, the other pt we bought outright so I'm kind of stupid at the moment on the process of it all.

Hubby and I went and saw the PT tonight, just to look. It looks like it's in great shape other than some scratches on the back bumper (looks like from taking stuff in and out of the trunk..) which is no big deal for us personally as it'll mainly be my hubby's work car..

Went to Edmonds on line-another appraisal organization. Used the same information listed in the dealer site--got a Dealer resale price of $8100--used my Washington state zip.

Maryland is a rust belt state--salt and harsh winters--need to look closely for signs of rust.

Where did the dealer get the PT; auction, trade or out right purchase. Where was the vehicle in its past life. What was it usage--private owner, rental, lease or ???

This is a 5 year old, domestic vehicle--seems to have retained approx 40% of orignal selling price in the seller eyes-- The general rule for dosmetic vehilces is 2 years old divide by 2--that would place the value of the vehilce 3 three years ago at no more than $11,000.

In these tough times you can get an entry level new vehicle with lots of upgrageds for the asking price and have a nice long warranty to go with it.

He is asking top dollars for less than top dollar vehicle in this market.

Shop around and get a good feel for the asking price both private and retail sellers asking price--since you are financing this purchase the cost of the vehilce just went up by the interest you are going to pay on the loan.

All this and than said--It is your purchase what ever we have to say is moot! You are the purchaser--you have to make the descision and live with. Good Luck which every way you go.

Found one locally on Craigslist. 2004 blue GT for $6995. Don't know anything about it though. I think $8995 is a little high. Just my 2 cents.
