Engine light on

was ready to go back home when i put the key in but i guess didnt turn it all the way to start the engine completely.
then when i turned the key again, and started the car, the engine light remained on. ugh. its now 2-3hours later and 2 more restarts, engine light still on... hopefully a stuck sensor ?

I reversed a couple relays on my Caravan causing the Check Engine Light to come on. I drove the vehicle about 300 miles afterwards with numerous restarts over a couple days before the light finally went off. Give yours a bit longer and if it is still on come Monday, then I'd think about having it checked out.

Remove your negative battery cable. Leave it off for 5 minutes and replace. That should "reset" your computer, unless there is a problem.

Yes it will pop right back on----- finding the battery isn't a problem it is under the air cleaner now getting to the battery well that my friend is a horse of a different color

I am back re engine light on!
The dealer finally fixed mine? The problem was a small crack around the plastic float or whatever it is on the top of the gas tank. With the change from cold to warm the expansion let enough air in or vacumn out to activate the light. I spoke to the mechanic thursday at the Passport office here in Kitchener Ontario and he said he found the trouble! They replaced the Gas tank Hoses Gas cap sending unit float some sort of filter and another filter canester all under warranty. With all the problems I have heard about the engine light I am wondering if this might be a reason for the nearly bankrupt company to have a recal on thetank(Ha Ha)
