Question Coupler Connectors

Hi..has anyone used heavy wire couplers? I am trying to locate them but do not know the actual name. They are used in audio set ups. They are sort of 2.5 inches or so long and have metal on either end where the cables come in. The center is a sort of clear plastic.

Any ideas?? I am heading to the audio store on Tuesday..hopefully with a name.

Thanks Guys.

You didn't give very much info on what your trying to do. What gauge wire? Are you looking to connect one wire to another to extend the length or are you wanting to be able to disconnect the two wires at times?

A butt connector will connect two wires permanently together. Simple connectors that come apart could be bullet or spade connectors. A place to look at many, many different type of connectors is: Welcome to Waytek Wire
