Talking Re: New Owner From Indy Here

Hey their WalterZoomie,

Yep, many of us have taken a little teasing now and then over the PT being kind of an old peoples car, or chick car, or uncool, until they attend a PT Show, or see a good sized PT Club! Here are a few of the guys I hang out with out here on the West Coast. How can anyone say the PT is uncool with rides like these?

Note my pride and joy top left!

Aint nothing uncool bout any of these rides as far as I can see!!!

I think those tailights have LEDs - at least they look like ones that are.
ENJOY.

You are correct, sir. I looked at them more closely today and saw that they were, in fact, LED.

I also found out that the shifter is a Hurst shifter, and not just a Hurst shifter ball, which increases the coolness factor of this rig exponentially!

Yes. My new roller skate is a race car!

Candyman:

I really like this one.

I don't go for a lot of flash too much. I'm a big fan of understated coolness.

I drove my new roller skate to work today! Fun it was! It fits like a glove and drives like a sports car...really handles and grips the road. I'm used to driving huge land barges, so this car is very different and a real treat to drive. I love it so far.

Question about the wheels...

Can any body tell me what kind (brand) they are?

Here's a little trade mark I found. I have no idea what I've got here. Any guesses?

I'm kinda stuck in the 1960s and 1970s as far as what is cool, high performance, or high-quality aftermarket stuff on a car, so any help you all can lend an old fart like me is appreciated.

Thanks.

If your talking about the wheels, they are original stock PT Cruiser chrome wheels made by American Racing. I'm not sure what the nomenclature is (looks like TT (maybe series #1). There's plenty for sale on eBay but American Racing doesn't list them on any of their sites that I could find.

I believe they only came on the 2001 models and in 2002 a "dimple was added to each spoke (see picture below) and in 2003 they came out with the "Chrome Clad 5 or 6 spoke wheels" which were slightly different and covered in a plastic coating for protection.

Thanks. I never would have guessed they were stock wheels.

When I purchase my 2001 LE a little over a year ago, I needed to replace the tires. The tire dealer informed me that the beads were bad from road salt deterioration. I replaced them with aftermarket wheels. It's something I'd watch out for on the stock wheels if your having slow leaks or start having them.
