I also live in Indy. I've owned my 2001 LE since November 2007, about a week before Thanksgiving. I didn't realize their was a PT Cruiser club in the area, I'll have to check into it. I've not done a lot of add ans to my Cruiser. Mainly I've changed the wheels as the salt had ruined the original rims and new tires as the old ones were worn out. Oh, and I replaced the antenna with a shorter version that has not affected reception, as far as I can tell.
Here is a link to some photos of my car: GaryErrol/2001 PT Cruiser - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I brought my Cruiser mainly to save putting miles on our van. I intended it be daily driven and used for my volunteer work in the warmer months (reason for the lights). If any Indy owners would like to make contact with me, please send me a PM and I'll give you my cell phone number. |

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm excited about my new ride. I've been driving a '93 Cadillac Deville for 6 years. I inherited it from my dad, and it's getting a little long in the tooth at 191,000 miles...not worth fixing or putting a lot of money into it. I was looking for something smaller and more economical. The PT was a candidate. It looks cool and fit the bill, and I could afford it. Didn't have a lot of time to car shop, so I did a lot of internet searching. Found this one, and made the purchase today. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow. My 15 year old son doesn't like the PT much...says it's a chick car! That's fine with me. I like chicks, and the more he doesn't like it, the more it means he won't be driving it when he gets his license...My 13 year old daughter likes it, though. She says it's "cute." I say it's cool...not cute. My 13 year old son doesn't care much one way or the other. My wife likes it. She is a rare breed of woman who likes to row the gears. I row gears all day at my job, so shifting is no biggie to me. Also, I've heard car thieves avoid manual transmissions because they don't know how to drive them. That's a plus! ![]() Anyhoo... thanks again for the greeting. BTW...my avatar is from the old Smokey Stover comic strip. I thought it was amusing...but what do I know? |
