Another reply: Why does Toyota with a 2.4 engine (same size as PT) get mid 20's around town & 34MPG!! on highway in a CAMRY-better technology-???please explain--ANY TECHIES out there??? THE PT IS AWESOME but 18-24 mpg is the norm! ==dont say its a brick--- not the only fact-so is the Scion cube which also gets in the 30's-must be engine specifics??????

Happy New Year

Not really comparable vehicles. The 4 door PT is more an suv than a car.The camry is a nice car but try moving a fridge with it plus DM is not renowned for its fuel economy in any of its vehicles

Bluenoser;;you are misunderstanding my point--- THE PT is awesome.... just improve what we already have--- put a 2.4 like the Toyota engine with the 6speed like a Ford Fusion-or Taurus... make it the best-like Toyota & Honda do ... and move a couch!! at 34MPG!!!(it can be done-Believe Im from PHILLY-GO EAGLES!!!!)

A better rear end and tranny combo would go a long way thats for sure.
I have found though ,that most of the better fuel economy vehicle tend to have the power band high in the rev department,I am an old man with old man ways I seldom drive above 100km/60mph but I want to get to 100km in a mili second for that to happen I need low end torque , which normally gets bad mpg I could peel the tires off my 1968 Cobra standing still good days.Hard to beleive that was over 40 years ago.Any one seen my life, its gone missing

Ok you want a fix for the Sub Standard MPG's
not a problem and guess what the boys at Chrysler have already fixed and gave it a ton more power as well and NO i am not kidding

The Problem is the Pt that is fixed and getting great millage, is in Europe and it has a diesel engine in it and it can NOT be brought over here

I know you are saying I don't was a diesel , the fuel is highe,r and they smell ,and are loud-,and no body will work on them I have -Already hear all this BS and guess what at 35mpg's, the fuel is NOT higher , they really are not that loud, and as far as the smell i can live with that as long as the motor will got for 300,000and get 35mpg's all that time, and as far as working on them the gas PT is hard to get people to work on as well and working on it yourself is just a apin

and not trying to be a pain but if you are gonna move a fridge in a Pt it better be a little one

So the answer is It is here well actually there but they did fix it we just cant have it
