Lightbulb 2002 Fog lights

I have the 2002 PT Cruiser Dream edition. I would like to replace the fog lights with blue bulbs. Does anyone know how you can remove the old lights so I can replace it with new ones? Thank you for your time!

If your just replacing the bulbs, you get to them from the back of the lights. I think they are covered by a rubber flap (if I remember correctly) so just peel that away and you'll see the bulbs. The bulbs twist in and out.

I seem to be having problems finding that rubber flap. Is it a black clip thats holding on the plastic part that protects the bulb? If I could simply remove the plastic cover thats protecting the bulb that would be nice. I do see the plastic clips on the outside front of it but not sure the plastic cover can be removed or do I just have to remove the whole adapter to get to the bulb?

There might be a clip or two that lets you move the rubber flap away from the back of the fog light bulbs but it does move away. That's how I did it to put in my SilverStars. You do have to lay on the ground or have the PT hoisted up to work on it.

ok so I need to jack it up somehow lol thats what I needed to know. How do you like the silverstar? The fog lights it comes with are not very good in the fog and I wanted to upgrade to a cooler looking light how are the ones you installed?

They are exceedingly white and made the headlights yellow in comparison so I switched the low beam headlights to SilverStars also. Are they brighter, hard to tell. The white light does make it "seem" to be brighter but it might be the whiteness itself.

that sounds cool I think it would look odd for just the fog lights to be so white and not the regular headbeams. But I was also thinking those blue tinted fog lights which look cool. The problem is Im going to have to pay someone to get my car up high enough to install them lol. The PTs have such a low front bumper that It will be extreamly hard even with a jack.

well you could always get a set of ramps some body said that the rhino ramps work with the PT I have some steel ramps I have to put down some 2x's and then drive it up on them but that is still cheaper than a garage will charge ya

Jacks work just fine. My PT is lowered and I can still get my low profile jacks on both sides to lift up the front to change oil and do other maintenance jobs. I also back them up with a set of jack stands on each side about 3 feet back from the hydraulic jacks. I've seen the results from what a fallen hydraulic jack can do on a human body.

Correct. Rhino ramps have the right angle and are only about $20. They are plastic, but hold about twice what a PT weighs.
