Was the 3M tape dried out so that they wouldn't stick?? Did you use a degreaser such as mineral spirits, in the states 3 M offers their own brand of degreaser. I removed all of my "chrome" from my @006 before trading it in and reinstalled everything with new 3M tape on our 2008.

Didn't stick to what...?....old black plastic mirror cover?
If "Yes", then as Hooligan said, degrease the black plastic that been exposed to the elements (or like mine, treated with VRT to look new); get your self a new roll of 3M adhesive tape, and replace the old tape on the mirror cover... Plus one more essential step for good adhesion.."adhesion promoter", by pad or pen. I buy the adhesion promoter "pen".....it goes a long way on many jobs, and not much more expensive than a couple of rip-open pads. Here's one site. But, you can Goggle for it and get it as cheap as you'd like! ![]() Adhesion Promoter Pen - Dash Care Products Automotive Adhesion Promoter Pen 4298 Personally, I have done custom painting on the covers for soonercruiser. So, I put on just enough to still make it occassionally removable enough to touch up the paint.

Soonercruiser has the Xenon side skirts. Looks great! But, they are primarily held on the sides with 3M tape. There are a few screws in the wheel wells only.
Mine were coming loose after inside of one year since the body shop installed and did the custom paint. So, I had to pull the side skirts out as best I could; pull off the old tape that was coming loose; apply adhesion promoter; and reapply the 3M tape. 2 more years down the road now, an no adhesion problems. ![]() (And I'm a mechanical & body rookie)
